Before we get to this next match allow me to break down some history. For anyone that’s just gotten into New Japan in the past few years, these 2 DO NOT like each other at all, there’s a long history that goes back to 2010: Taichi had just returned from CMLL and accompanied the then IWGP Champion Kojima, they would be joined by Nosawa Rongai and TAKA Michinoku. In January of 2011 Kojima officially named the group Kojima-gun, in February MVP would arrive and join the group. Nosawa would leave wrestling altogether due to legal issues he had to take care of. Flash forward to later in 2011 after losing the title to Tanahashi and another loss to Makabe, TAKA & Taichi would perform a coup d’etat and attack their leader Kojima before being joined by freelancer Minoru Suzuki, Suzuki would Choke out Kojima & leave with TAKA & Taichi, they declared Suzuki as their new leader, kicking out Kojima and renaming the stable Suzuki-gun. MVP was the only one to stay loyal to Kojima.
